Sarah was incredible in guiding me and my family through our first out of hospital birth. She went above and beyond in answering all of my questions and guiding me to valuable resources so I felt prepared and well educated prior to delivery. One of the things I appreciated the most about Sarah as my doula was how well she listened. Each conversation I had with her (which were a lot) she truly heard me and took the time to guide me. 

Delivering in May during the pandemic was stressful and full of so many unknowns but Sarah was the mother I needed at my side but could not have due to all the visitor limitations. At one point during labor when things were getting intense and overwhelming for me I remember Sarah placing her hands on my upper and lower back and I immediately felt held and calm. She has a way of knowing what you need as a laboring mother even if you don’t know what that is or how to ask for it in the moment. Sarah also fully supported our decision to have our other children present at the birth and helped prepare them well before the delivery to know what to expect. 

I HIGHLY recommend hiring Sarah as your doula. The services she provides to aid in a well supported birth experience were priceless! My family and I are forever grateful Sarah was there as we welcomed our baby boy into the world!

Sarah was an incredible support for my husband & I during the birth of our first child! She was great at answering our many questions and offering her own experiences & thoughts, yet leaving space for us to make our own decisions throughout the process. My husband really wanted to have a meaningful role in helping me with our daughter’s birth and Sarah empowered & guided him to be an amazing support! That meant so much to us both! My mom was able to attend the birth as well and loved getting to know Sarah and her calm and encouraging spirit during my labor. Sarah is amazing about following up and checking in with personal visits, quick texts and phone calls. She has been such a blessing to us! We hope to add to our family in the future and plan on calling Sarah as soon as we do! Sarah has been a good family friend and neighbor for my whole life and now I can add amazing doula to that list. She helped me plan so well for the kind of birth experience I wanted and made me feel so comfortable and calm throughout the whole journey. This was my first child and having him in a hospital during a pandemic was scary, but Sarah was there every step of the way guiding my husband and I through all of the unknowns.
I love how she had several prenatal meetings where she laid out every possible scenario to ensure I could make the most informed decision for myself, and she always made it fun and stress-free. Not to mention she spoils you with homemade baked goods!
Then when it came to the birth she was such a sense of peace and calm in what can be a hectic and uncertain environment. One of the things I loved most was how she helped be the communication medium for what I needed at the moment when I was unable to speak for myself. When things got intense she was so comforting and helped to keep my husband calm and involved as well.
After the birth she still stayed in communication with us and also did a home visit to see how we were doing. She also took the time to talk to me one on one to allow me a safe space to discuss my birth story and how I felt about how it all went, which I think is so important.
